Bring All Those Pictures Together With a Video Slideshow

One of the most popular items we offer are video slideshows. The term "video slideshow" is somewhat of a misnomer, as these highly entertaining videos can include any combination of videos, photos, and audio. Whether it's a birthday celebration, co-worker achievement party, or other significant celebration, these videos offer a fun and unique way to showcase those special moments from anyone's life.

Production time on these projects depends on the desired length of the video and whether any additional footage needs to be filmed. In many cases, we are asked to film interviews with friends, family members, or co-workers.

Your personal materials

A concern of many customers is related to the care of the items they supply to us. While we take great care with materials you supply to us, if you are more comfortable providing us with a CD(s) containing all the materials you wish to use, that is certainly fine with us. To ensure prompt turn around times, please follow the directions below in preparing your materials for us.

Preparing to scan

If you choose to scan in your own pictures, newspaper clippings, or certificates, these guidelines will insure that the quality of your scans meets the requirements we have for video production.

A good rule of thumb is, "The smaller the picture, the higher the resolution." We use a variety of advanced techniques in the production of video slideshows. Some of these require high resolution images. Please refer to these general guidelines to ensure the highest compatibility with our processes.

Picture/Item Size
Resolution
2" x 3" (wallets) or smaller
1200 dpi
4" x 6" and 5" x 7"
600 dpi
8" x 10" and larger
300 dpi

Once the image is scanned it, save it as a JPG or TIFF.

After you have completed scanning all the items to be used in your video, burn them to a CD using any CD creation software. We ask that you avoid using the CD+RW (aka Direct CD) format. Please create a "data only" CD.

Preparing your home videos

If you choose to include your own home video footage with the slideshow, we ask that you:

  • Review your tapes and pick out the parts you'd like to include.
  • Note the time on the tape where the clip can be located.
  • Include a list describing who is in the scene and what the significance of the clip is.

Upon receipt of your materials we will begin working on your slideshow. Regular meetings can be scheduled for you to come see the progress that is being made on your slideshow. For more information on getting a slideshow produced, call us today!
